Covid 19
At Ballarat Osteopathic Clinic, we’re focused on the well-being of every person who steps through our clinic doors. This includes the health and safety of our local communities, which is you, our patients, as well as our team members. Things may look and feel a little different at the moment but we're still providing the same quality care.
We have implemented a raft of hygiene and social distancing measures in the clinic to help minimise the risk of spreading the virus, including limiting the amount of practitioners working per day and increased appointment times to help minimise the risk to our clients and staff. We are staying up-to-date with government and chief medical advice and continue to monitor this and make changes to our procedures as the need arises.

Below is a list of measures we have put in place for all patients to follow. We thank you for your adherence to these measures.

  • We ask patients to wait in their car until their appointment time to decrease time spent in the waiting room

  • Sanitiser is available at the front door. Patients are asked to either wash their hands or use sanitiser on entering and exiting the clinic.

  • Temperature checks will be conducted in the waiting room. If you have a temperature over 37.5 degrees celsius you will be asked to reschedule your appointment and contact your GP.

  • Please maintain social distancing in the waiting rooms

  • We ask that only the individual being treated attend the clinic. In the interests of health and safety for all we are attempting to minimise the number of people in the waiting room at any given time.

  • In line with advice from the Department of Health and Human services all practitioners will be wearing masks at all times in the clinic. All patients must wear their own masks when attending for their appointment.

Before attending your next appointment, please complete the following questionnaire to ensure that you are adhering to current government protocols.

COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire

  • Are you feeling unwell with symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath?

  • Have you had close contact* with someone who has a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19)? *Face-to-face contact for more than 15 minutes, or have shared an enclosed space for more than two hours.

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, we recommend that you:

  • Call the clinic to reschedule your appointment

  • Self-isolate at home for 14 days (as per the government protocols) if you have had close contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19 while infectious.

  • Please call your GP if you develop any respiratory symptoms or fever.

Some extra items to now bring along to your appointment:

  • Pen (if you would prefer not to use our pens)

  • Water bottle

  • Your own face mask

We appreciate that it is a challenging time for all and that some of these measures may create some disruption to your treatment. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We are committed to doing everything we can to ensure that we can continue to deliver a safe and reassuring service to all of our valued patients.
